On April 13, 2025, our community lost a shining light—Anthony Allen, a gifted lead guitarist and cherished member of his church—whose life was tragically taken when he was struck by a wrong-way driver while en route to worship. This heartbreaking incident highlights a critical safety gap on our roads and underscores the urgent need for proactive solutions.
In response, the "Spikes For Anthony" campaign has been launched to champion the implementation of innovative technologies designed to prevent wrong-way driving accidents. These include the strategic deployment of spike strips at highway exit ramps, advanced wrong-way detection systems, infrared sensors, and electronic signage that alert and deter wrong-way drivers before they enter high-speed traffic.
Our goal is to honor Anthony’s memory by advocating for these life-saving measures, ensuring that no other family experiences a similar tragedy, and making our roads safer for everyone.
